C I N E M A O P T I C S

Tawan Bazemore and Crystal Porter-Bazemore founded the Los Angeles-based production company Cinema Optics. Our primary goal is to tell human stories in an avant-garde manner. 


SOUND, our first film under the Cinema Optics banner, is a Panavision Nominated and multi-award winning film.  Indie Shorts Mag dubbed the film "A Masterpiece."   THE RECIPE, our sophomore film, is currently in post-production and will be released on the festival circuit in early 2023!

SOUND  is the story of photographer, Isabelle Pasano (Crystal Porter-Bazemore).  A woman who becomes hearing impaired after a violent car accident.  As she struggles to cope, something beautifully terrifying happens.

    THE RECIPE

    THE RECIPE is the sophomore film from Tawan Bazemore & Crystal Porter-Bazemore (MOI💋) aka “The Bazemore duo”, a nickname given by Indie Shorts Mag. 


    THE RECIPE is a cinematic film in our distinctive signature and artistic style.  A family recipe brings two women together in a reinvented world for a chance at healing and forgiveness, but a murder 22 years prior may prevent that from happening. 


    This film delves into difficult social constructs and what it means to forgive. This film's message is universal. Our hope is that this film will serve as a catalyst to help to advance social conversations.


    The visual aesthetic of THE RECIPE is a stunning blend of the vintage European cinema and current blockbuster. We are  in the final stages of post-production and intend to submit to festivals in late 2023.
